On Point Sashing (a Hack)
An Imperfect Hack on the On Point Grid
Alert: This is an imperfect hack. The sashing will always be bottom heavy and not be applied the same way along the top of the quilt as it is along the bottom.

On Point Sashing Hack
Currently, the on point grid cannot have different sized columns and rows (as you can on the rectangular grid). We hope to have this fixed soon, but for now we can offer a hack.
Essentially the hack is to add a border along the bottom edges of the on point quilt block.
a | On Point Sashing without Cornerstones (Hack)
This Help Guide assumes that you have already created your on point quilt and want to add sashing after having added your blocks to the quilt grid.

Click on the Edit Block button for the block you want to add sashing to.
On the left side control panel, increase the block size to add the desired width of sashing. Enter the new width and height of the finished block dimensions. Then click on the OK button.
In this example, my block is 10" finished and I want to add 2" sashing. So, I will enter 12 for both the height and width of the block.
The block will get bigger and sometimes the block will resize (sorry). So we're first going to resize the original block pieces so that they are back to the 10" block size as they were originally. To do this:
Change the grid lines to be the same as the dimensions of the quilt block. In this example, 12. This will help the block pieces to snap to the correct position.
Click down and hold on the left button of the mouse and drag the selection area around all the block pieces.
Once all pieces are selected there will be a bounding box around all the pieces (might be faint and hard to see). Click on the bottom left box (
) and pull it until it lines up with the 10" gridline.
Block slightly smaller than 10" Resized back to 10" - aligned with gridlines. Click on the square shape from the central vertical toolbar.
It will be placed randomly into the block area.
On the left side control panel, click on the Fabric Link that you'd like to use for the sashing. In this example, I'll select Fabric Link C. The shape will be updated to the new fabric choice.
Move and resize the square to match one side of the quilt block.
Repeat Steps 4-7 for the other length of sashing.
Click on the Save to Quilt button in the top right corner of the Block Editor.
Click on the GRID tab on the left side control panel.
Change the cell width and height to the new block size (12 in this example). Then click on the Update button.
You will now see the quilt with the illusion of sashing between blocks.
b | FIX - Rotate Blocks
If after completing Step 12 and you see double sashing on your blocks (usually along the quilt edges in the half blocks or quarter blocks), here's how you fix that.

Click on (to select) all the blocks that have the double sashing.
Click on the Rotate button (
) on the central vertical toolbar until the blocks are oriented in the correct direction (with the sashing along the bottom only). Sometimes this means you will not see the sashing.
Now it's all in the correct orientation!

Repeat Steps 4-7 for the other length of sashing. But do not extend the entire length of the block.
Repeat Steps 4-7 for the cornerstone. But instead of picking the same fabric has the sashing, you will probably want to use a different fabric link. Move into the corner of the block.
Click on the Save to Quilt button in the top right corner of the Block Editor.
Click on the GRID tab on the left side control panel.
Change the cell width and height to the new block size (12 in this example). Then click on the Update button.
You will now see the quilt with the illusion of sashing with cornerstones between the blocks.
