Save a Quilt as a Block

Use Case: Have you ever created a great combination of blocks that you wish you could use it as its own bigger quilt block? Now you can!

Starting Point: A quilt using Bear Tracks, Bento Box, and Rail Fence blocks.

How to Save a Quilt as a Block

This is a great feature for when you want to use a collection of quilt blocks in another quilt. Rather than recreating the block collections over and over again, you can create a bigger block to reuse.

Edit your quilt so that there are no empty blocks.

• TIP: Use the GRID tab to remove empty columns and rows.

• In this example, I change the number of columns and rows from 10 to 3.

Before: 10 columns x 10 rows

After: 3 columns x 3 rows

Open the FUNSIES tab. Click on the 'Convert Quilt to Block' button.

Name your new block. And click on the Covert button.

The block is now saved to your Block Stash. You can now use it as its own block in a new quilt.
