# Fix a Thumbnail Image

You might have noticed that your quilt does not have a thumbnail image of your quilt. This is often the case on the Quilt Dashboard or when creating a digital coloring page (Market Plan).

## <mark style="color:blue;">a | Fix Thumbnail on a Quilt Dashboard</mark>

This broken image (<img src="/files/NvjN2uKCQeV805jVTxzr" alt="" data-size="line">) will appear when a thumbnail image has not been created for a quilt. To save processing time and database space, a thumbnail image is not produced every time the quilt is saved. A thumbnail image is only created upon request. To fix this:

1. Click on the three dots (<img src="/files/fLzxdNRQvvmbCh9WKmln" alt="" data-size="line">) on the quilt tile that has a broken thumbnail image.
2. Select <mark style="color:blue;">**Update Thumbnail**</mark> from the menu that appears.
3. A spinning wheel will appear while the thumbnail is created.&#x20;

   * NOTE: This might take a minute or two.

4. Once created, a thumbnail of the quilt will appear on the tile.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.prequilt.com/fixes-faqs/tips-and-how-tos-for-fixing-things/fix-a-thumbnail-image.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
